I hail from the South and even weathered a brief stint as a Midwesterner shoveling snow and studying Opera performance and English Literature at Indiana University. After graduating in three years, I moved to New York and have called Brooklyn home ever since. My publishing experience began with an internship at The Paris Review, followed up with two plus years as an editorial assistant at Farrar, Straus and Giroux. My writing has appeared in The New Yorker's Book Bench, The Economist, Gotham Magazine, Time Out New York, The Daily Beast, NPR, Bookforum.com, Bookslut, Trutv.com, The Barnes and Noble Review, The Millions, The Awl, This Recording, The Second Pass, Identity Theory, Planet Magazine, and The 99%.
