Did you ever read Alvin Schwartz's Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark as a kid? If you did, you probably remember how terrifying these books are. I recently reread them for my column over at Bookslut, and I'm happy (and surprised) to report that these stories are still as scary as they were when I was eight years old.
